On April 27th, 2007, a book named the 4-hour work week was published by Tim Ferriss. This was during the time when the Dow Jones Industrial Averages were still above 13,000 and everyone was working. The book was very well received but most people had difficulty applying it.

That same year, renewed printings were circulated by mass email and links posted on the internet on the following critical view about today's human society (link). The original work began in 1995 from Dr. Bob Moorehead's collection of prayers, homilies and sermons used in his sermons and ministry, "The Paradox of Our Age" in Words Aptly Spoken:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.

Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

On March 6th, 2009, when the global financial system came to a stop, many wondered if the sun would come up again the next day. Today, small business owners struggle, harmful microbes get increasingly stronger, unemployment is high ... US Congress is in discussions about healthcare reform and globally we are concerned about reforming pollution levels at Copenhagen.

So if you brought up the concept, 'Cheers, Chill out, or Relax and Don't Worry' -it is unlikely to be well received by many.

So should we relax and think about how short life is? Or should we work 7 days a week and dig ourselves out of this mess before we lose out on the opportunity to have retirement?

As a Christian scientist and writer, I've been asked to do a discussion on "How To Balance" for Christians. I've posted a modified version here for all secular and non-secular readers. It is separated into 3 parts. Part 1 is whether or not relaxation and rest is necessary and defined in the Bible? Part 2 analyzes disorders of the brain and asks whether or not relaxation or balance is possible? Part 3 looks into the technological solutions because as a society we have failed to be able to accomplish Part 1. We may want to think about what, why and how it has happened but also how do we come out of the darkness?

Part I: Balance and Rest as found in the Holy Bible

The Sabbath was instituted by God's own example:

" And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made" (Genesis 2:2-3).

The very God of the universe chose to cease from His labor. He did this not because He was tired (Isaiah 40:28), but because He wanted to set an example for all of humankind. He specifically blessed and made holy the seventh day as a Sabbath, a day of ceasing, greater than two millennia before the time of Moses and the Old Covenant. Exodus 20:11 gives testimony to this fact:

"For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: Therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

Jesus Himself, during His earthly ministry, declared that the Sabbath was made for man (that is, humankind), not just for the Hebrews (Mark 2:27). The Sabbath was not a mere Mosaic statute (Definition: Of or relating to Moses or the laws and writings attributed to him) given only to Israel under the Old Covenant. It was set apart at the beginning, as a memorial of God's creative power. The "Day of Rest" - it was ordained by God's own example as a blessing for all mankind. This reason alone should be sufficient for those who seek to do God's will.

Part II: Disorders of the Brain, can we be balanced?

Many examples of pathological disease of the brain leading to a mental disorder can be found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. To psychiatrists, psychologists and medical practitioners it is better known as the DSM IV.

The following disorders have become well known due to media and film:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) -DSM IV Code: 314.01
Autism -DSM IV Code: 299.00 (less known subtype Asperger syndrome)
Narcolespy -DSM IV Code: 347.00 (characterized by chronic daytime sleepiness)
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) -DSM IV Code: 309.81 (characterized as a severe anxiety disorder)

but clearly there are many more examples that are not found in the DSM-IV:

If you watch a C-SPAN discussion on Holocaust Denial Syndromes, you'll also see a discussion where both the listener and the speaker are not communicating. The answers and the questions become mixed and the commentator attempts to moderate.

Given the depth of destructive behavior that is wide ranging and the lack of individuals willing to agree upon a combined purpose helps to explain the numerous social media, religions and other ways of life that look to solutions.

Part III: The Answers Are Within Us (We just need to take a peek inside):

Homosapiens have a very destructive pattern of behavior. Researchers are finding that the answers lie within our minds. The brain which is supposed to protect us from fear and hurt is the same brain that has become diseased due to our societal advancements.

We have come a long way as a society and now we can "live happily ever after" with DSM IV and non DSM IV type problems because our brains don't work that way. The Holy Bible talks about a day of rest and we all understand have understood the importance of balance.

Yet we cannot achieve it because we no longer know what rest is.

Is it a day of sleeping? Sleep too much and you have a disorder.

Is it trying different relationships until you meet the right one?

Is it trying different jobs until you find the right job?

What if it is the right one, the perfect match and we don't even know because we don't realize it?!

Example:
You touch hand onto a hot stove and burn your finger.
The brain receives the dangerous input and then creates a reaction that pulls the hand back from the pain to reduce the trauma and damage.
Your hand still hurts and you anguish in pain.

For some people under pain, they desire comfort.
For others under pain, they desire to be left alone.
Some who experience pain will want to substitute with more pain.
And still others who experience pain will want to inflict and deflect the pain to another victim.

What is the right answer? Are these simply survival skills? Should we for the sake of freedom of choice, let all the DSM-IV individuals, road ragers and others loose on the streets?

Research on artificial intelligence is finding that certain parameters outside of normal is unsafe. These parameters when left unchecked and further damaged can create dangerous behaviors that build upon itself. Aggression has been known to be additive and can even be trained.

Society has generally been accepting of disorders because freedom has been a greater desire. However, as dangers become technically advanced and an increasing level of threat where it can bring irreparable damages, governments and the people will be looking to limiting the chance of great catastrophe.

The era of enforcement has arrived and the tools and technology that allow detection of outliers is now possible. Researchers are finding that individuals like a Bernie Madoff and suicide bombers have a certain correlated patterns of thinking that can be destructive.

Neuroscience has removed the fiction from science fiction into actual science of brain scanning. The following video from 60 Minutes is a real story on some earlier breakthroughs.

DNA testing has been allowed.
Hair sampling has been allowed.
Brain scanning will eventually become a courtcase ruling that will indicate it has not violated human rights.

In the meantime, you can start imagining if the brain pattern for "kindness, love and affection" can be measured how much you have, you could self improve or self-limit such actions.

The painful hand could be cured by seeing which areas contributed to pain inside the brain and essentially be turned off using therapy or medicines. Imagine that?

On your select day of resting, you could even check to "see" inside your own head if you're relaxing or fooling yourself into and have underlying stresses about work, relationships etc.

In the next five years, brain chemistry, scanning and solutions will become as known as Google, Microsoft or Hewlett Packard at the business level. And within the next decade, it "could" become commonplace for laypersons.

Some people will feel disturbed by this article and others will embrace it. Feel free to express your thoughts. It is a greater decision that we as a human race must make as a whole and to consider the consequences, risks and rewards.

Health problems caused by coal are derived from either the use of poor quality coal (high ash, high sulfur, or high content of toxic trace elements) or by the improper use of coal. When poor quality coal is used in an improper way the resultant health problems can be widespread and severe. In millions of houses in many developing countries coal and other biomass fuels are burned in unvented stoves causing severe indoor air pollution. In Guizhou Province, southwest China the situation is exacerbated by the villagers' use of coal that has extraordinary high concentrations of toxic elements. Thousands of people in this region are suffering from severe arsenic poisoning. More than 10 million people in Guizhou Province and surrounding areas suffer from dental and skeletal fluorosis. The fluorine exposure is due to the use of briquettes made from high-fluorine coals and high-fluorine clay binders. A preliminary geochemical survey indicates that low arsenic coals and low fluorine coals and clays are available. A simple, inexpensive field test kit has been developed to help the villagers identify low-arsenic coal. Not all of the health problems attributed to coal are caused by combustion. An unusual situation exists in the Balkans where there may be health problems caused by coal in the ground. Well waters containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons leached from low-rank coals may be the cause of, or a contributing factor to, Balkan Endemic Nephropathy, an interstitial nephropathy, that is believed to have killed more than 100,000 people in the former Yugoslavia alone. Not all of the allegations of health problems caused by coal are legitimate. Concerns expressed about exposure to radioactivity from coal and coal combustion products are misplaced. The products of commercial coal combustion (fly ash, bottom ash) have uranium and thorium concentrations about 5-10 times higher than that of the coal. However, the uranium and thorium in the coal byproducts should not cause concern because they are mostly in insoluble forms at concentration levels similar to most soils.

Medically speaking, in the past, dirty coal burning without the proper technology can cause harmful pathological conditions. With the Copenhagen Treaty looking pretty set on finalizing green eco-friendly solution, clean coal will be in high demand. This will come at a cost to some industries while creating jobs in others. Change will be here by this Christmas.

Healthcare Reform (It will happen and change IS coming) ... Are you prepared?

Dear Readers,

Been extremely busy these few months as 2009 comes to a rapid close and Thanksgiving is a week away. Busy on what? In my line of work, sometimes our greatest accomplishments are based on what didn't happen or transpire. That's what preventative maintenance is all about.

So "as the world turns", there is yet another major event that is coming up that will affect your life because the numbers have gotten "out of hand". And that is the topic of much debate called the "Healthcare Reform Bill". Does it have national and international implications? Absolutely!

Is there a righjavascript:void(0)t or wrong answer? It depends on which side of the fence you sit on and undoubtedly with rising unemployment (>10%) of the national workforce, a dropping dollar and worries about an overheating international economy ... you should be concerned.

We need to start to wake-up and to have a serious and hard look at cost cutting measures for the greater good. But will that impact accessibility to the best medical care? Absolutely. So what should we do? We need to increase efficiencies and start to think as a whole community. Perhaps evaluating the taboo territory of alternative medical care, prevention, eating right ... may become a necessary part of everyone's share?

The remaining 3 months of 2009 ...

Nine months into the year and we've experienced:

1. The stock markets crashed in March 2009 and we're moving to higher highs.
2. We've witnessed a nasty virus (H1N1) and it spread to level 6 pandemic levels.
3. Gold has rocketed to almost breaking 1038/oz.
4. The US dollar is close to breaking another low (Bloomberg).
5. We are at the brink of national healthcare reform.
6. Sell-in May and go away (did not happen, the markets rallied).
7. September crash month of 2008 did not occur (so far).
8. The infamous fear index (^VIX) is trending lower.

What do you think will be in store for the rest of 2009? Where do we go from here?

One thing for sure has happened is problems continue to worsen but the reaction has gotten less and less (even the media has stopped talking about the bad things).

We've printed lots of $ and the conclusion at the G20 was we need to continue supporting a recovering economy. Few are buying gold jewelry but for some strange reason, someone or something is parking lots of money into gold. Some guess it is could be China.

Yes, stability has occurred and it may be here to stay with a cost. The cost will be a weaker dollar. If the problems require even more printing, the dollar may further weaken and gold may break to higher levels despite lack of jewelry demand.

Only time will tell what 2009 holds in store for Christmas this year.

U.S. consumers have changed and showed that change is possible. Articles on being frugal (aka Financially Fit) is the new trend: story.

What do you see for the remaining 3 months?

One thing is for sure. Oil has remained expensive and increased demand could make it go higher. Less demand means less recovery (so we don't want that either). How about food? Will food get cheaper or more expensive? The only solution would be to mass produce more animals, more plants in confined conditions.

Answer: Yes, but let's put that off for now and worry about a financial recovery. By the way, those genetically modified crops could offer a way to lower food costs.

Answer: Anything is possible. Let's put that off for now and worry about feeding the family with lower cost foods. By the way, those genetically modified crops taste quite 'similar'. You'll get used to it and soon forget there was ever an issue.

Question: Those banks that were too big to fail have gotten stronger. This seems like creating a bigger bubble than before.

Answer: Nah, you're just being oversensitive. If there is another bubble, we'll take care of it just like we always do.

Question: The water doesn't taste so good. There are medical publications about acinetobacter being multi-drug resistant. Do you think the wastewater facilities are working?

Answer: What do you want? It is free. Low cost. How can you complain about free stuff. Now if we could start charging for it, we might improvise.

Propionibacterium acnes market

According to the Mayo Clinic, the pathogenesis of acne (diagram) is formed when the

1. pore is clogged (no oxygen)

2. Propionibacterium acnes a gram positive species which thrives under anaerobic conditions increases in numbers (this can be detected by measuring for endogenic porphyrin–coporphyrin III). Unlike most anaerobic bacteria, P. acnes is aerotolerant so it survives in the presence of oxygen.

3. When a pore is blocked, this anaerobic bacteria overgrows and secretes chemicals that breakdown the wall of the pore, spilling other bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus into the skin. Interestingly, Staph. aureus is a Gram positive, facultative anaerobe (it can exist in the presence and absence of oxygen).

Women who are or may be pregnant, or who are seeking to become pregnant, are therefore warned against using it. This teratogenic effect is caused by the interference of the exogenous retinoic acid with endogenous retinoic acid signaling, which plays a role in patterning the developing embryo. However the risks of topical tretinoin to the unborn child seems to be 'limited'.

To find an alternative, low cost method to non-invasively disrupt bacterial mixtures while impregnating them into a facial cleansing system.

Background:

The electric dipole moment for a pair of opposite charges of magnitude q is defined as the magnitude of the charge times the distance between them and the defined direction is toward the positive charge. Behind the Sweetness lies a complex issue ...

Recently, I've been asked to work on a natural diabetic friendly sugar project in addition to the bacteria/virus research. Like anything, I usually do some market research to gain a perspective on the situation. I found that bacteria, molds and sugars are highly correlated. While we share the same desires (for sugar), only people will fight and create barriers to access by trading sugar as a commodity. The natural + diabetic friendly sugar that can also release benefits of minerals is clearly a tough one (finger's crossed).

Research summary:
Goldman Sachs said this year’s rise in prices was “just the beginning” of another rally that was likely ultimately to be even more extreme than past episodes as supply problems worsened.

There was once a game, heads I win, tails you lose. This seems to apply very much in the case of sugar.

1. If we get a recovery, commodities like sugar will skyrocket.
2. If we don't get a recovery, commodities like sugar should fall due to a decrease in demand, right? -Wrong.

A. Generally speaking, people eat more sugary foods when they are nervous.
B. Economically speaking, it is one of those cheaper excursions relative to everything else (just like women will buy less make up in harder economic times, it is the opposite for lipstick).
C. Environmentally speaking, India had its driest June in 83 years. Weather conditions in Brazil and around the world have increased risks for the 2009-2010 period.

D. Medically speaking, large sugar intake cause wild swings in the insulin/glucagon response. This is one of the underlying causes for adult onset diabetes. Diabetes is projected to grow. This will impact productivity and healthcare costs.

Does this mean we are going to end up spending more on ice cream, sodas, maple syrup etc. ?

Not necessarily. As companies realize that consumers are sensitive to pricings, they will inevitably search for less expensive options. One option is the use of high fructose corn syrup as a substitute and to market it as a healthy alternative.

Another option is to use "synthetic sweeteners" that will boost the sweet taste without requiring the need to add more sugar. This has been catalyzed by the talk in Washington to tax sugar:

As sugar, soda and food companies feel pressured by changes ... options need to be considered to increase (or just to keep) bottom line profits. Companies running a business need to sustain profits for shareholders. Yet, every employee realizes that sugar is not healthy. US Consumers are purchasing less soda.

Therefore, the only areas of expansion is to look abroad at emerging economies and Chindia (China +India). You may recall Coca-cola's strong interest and failed acquisition of China's Huiyuan Juice Group which got slammed after Coca-cola was rejected by the Chinese government (stock).

So what are your thoughts? Do you have a sweet tooth? You're not alone. According to D.C.A.L., we found there's another organisms that LOVES sugar more than people. They are fungus, molds, mildew, bacteria ...

Once thought of as harmless, out of control growth of Candida Albicans can lead to bothersome yeast infections. Look around you at the supermarket and pharmacies and you'll notice that vaginal yeast products and options including placing a piece of crushed garlic remedies have skyrocketed (we'll save this one for another article) ...

The Associated Press: Legal immunity set for swine flu vaccine makers: "Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, government health officials said Friday."

God has answered with a media film crew coming over from Asia and doing a cover story and televised show on our work with H1N1 virus', bacteria and mold. I thank everyone for their continued efforts amidst my frustrations at convincing this company to commercialize. *sigh* At least now, there are more people who can visually see the dangers that can occur during any kind of outbreak. This live test of the data from previous blogs clearly shows the formulation is impeccable! In working on virus', bacteria and now fungal species, I have come to the realization that we are very much unprepared and unaware of the dangers the exist. Solving problems with a vaccine is slow, costly and insufficient. Each time you make the H1N1 vaccine, you need to offline the production of vaccines for the common influenza virus and this is gambling rather than medicine.

Clearly, the public and most media is only concerned with H1N1 outbreak but what about mold outbreaks that are happening within communities?

2. The CDC at level 3 wrote the following recommendation (see below or actual link) and published on April 27 (@11:00am) pretty soon afterwards on Monday we transitioned to level 4. We are now at level 5. Based on this information, we should be masking ourselves in a 50-100 mile radius at any area that has shown a hotspot (Texas, New York, California etc). This goes for other countries (S.Korea, U.K.,etc).

3. What are your suggestions? Some now agree that we should quarantine people in their homes and take out our anti-anthrax weaponry to reduce the H1N1 virus. On a scale of things, the H1N1 virus is a soldier vs. anti-anthrax weaponry.

Like anything, there have nothing but massive errors. Someone (from media) starting
saying the words 'swine flu' and soon everyone caught on. Well, it really isn't swine and it is really 3 variations. Too late, China, Russia and numerous countries don't want North American pork (link).

Gary Stordy, spokeman for the Canadian Pork Council, insists that countries need to stop calling it 'swine flu'. Do you think this word can ever be dropped (link)?

Notice that more cases followed by an increase to level 5 (one step away from level 6) but then look around you -no one is wearing a mask on the streets of New York City and yet you have the occasional ambulance arrive due to someone reporting feeling ill.

It is a total nightmare. This news clip indicates the situation is dire. Look back at 1918 and you will see the virus came out and some people got sick and the situation with the Spanish flu improved until later it went berzerk.

The same situation could happen here as the virus spreads into more countries. Once there is an outbreak, the world as we know it could turn very ugly, very fast.

Swine flu should really be named Mexican flu or North American flu or H1N1 virus since it a combination of 3 genetics (chicken, pig and human). If we were treating mosquitoes that carried Dengue fever or malaria, you would want to resort to the following:

1. Contain the mosquitoes
2. Use all measures to prevent the mosquitoes from getting on your body (protective clothing, repellents etc)
3. Your last option after being bitten would be to take medication of anti-X.

Well, it seems odd that the media would keep on telling people to take Tamiflu when that is option 3. And usually option 3 is used only after the product has been clinically proven -which it has not because Tamiflu was not around during the last outbreaks of H1N1.

Also all these safety breathing masks keep popping up. Why would you use anything other than N95 masks by 3M when this is the only mask that saved lives effectively during SARS virus, H5N1 (avian flu) outbreaks.

Suggestions of cleaning with bleach are another crazy phenomenon -yes it works but this virus is really fast at getting into your body via respiratory pathways. And bleach is very slow. It seems that one should use that Ygiene that I've had success in our own lives with toxigenic mold and pathogenic bacteria.

Can you believe it? Over six months of a water loss and then followed by another six months of not being able to properly restore the home?!! Clearly they don't have the vast knowledge database that humans have but are they capable of 'expressing their feelings' or is it just a mimicry of humans? And if they cannot express it in the form of writing does that preclude them from having any 'emotions/feelings'?

Generally speaking:
There is no definitive taxonomy of emotion. Meaning there is no definite scientific classification of the wide variety of emotions exist in human beings.

Emotions are experiences that associate with wide ranges of feelings, thoughts and behaviors. In this increasingly complex world, our emotions continue to evolve according to our experiences.

Only a few generations ago, people would never imagine what is it like to experience things such as EMF Radiation Damage, Operation - Stress Test, Global Climate Crisis, Weapons of Mass Destruction: Cutting Out the Middleman, or even just handling the amount and variety of information made available to us through technology.

Throughout time, we have developed all kinds of complex emotions. With technology, interactions between human beings and other living organisms increased exponentially. Another Poster-child picture shown during the April 15th 2009 Tax Protest a.k.a. 2009 America's Tea Party (i.e. Sacramento, stayout of my piggybank, in front of Washington -demonstrating for Obama's Birth Certs ) was the main event of interest across America. Nationwide this is appearing as a potential for riots and civil unrest. Clearly, it is a sign many Obama voters are extremely unhappy, out-of-work, feel cheated and inappropriately represented. When asked, one even said, "I want my vote back".

2. Arguments on Obama's role as the Head of State is re-challenged at the Tea Parties. INDIVIDUALS INSISTED THAT THEY WILL NOT SUPPORT OBAMA'S ACTIONS. Patriot's on April 15th carried signs and shirts in Washington DC with "Hey Big Brother: Show us Your Real Birth Certificate!"

3. Instead of the 1773-style tea-bag dump, handmade signs of all types were displayed. The Tea Party was a combination of anti-tax protest and an anti-Obama festival. Among the messages: "The Audacity of the Dope," "O Crap" and Obama as an acronym for "One Big Awful Mistake America." Some uglier messages were ("Napolitano -- Obama's Gestapo Queen," "Hang 'Em High Traitors," and a young girl with a sign: "Victim of Child Tax Abuse"). Other ones included ("Tax Slavery Sucks," and "Obama bin Lyin"). Another was a Cabbage Patch doll by its hair and a message: "My kid's growth stunted by your stimulus."

So instead of working together to find a solution, many are working together to contemplate revolting and voicing their opinions. As more people are out of work, they are all joining together to form this "Tea Party".

Leaders of various countries are concerned with this revolution attitude and what would happen should situations escalate? Will Obama allow this to happen or shut this down due to national-global security threats should increased turmoil in the USA arise.

It is always good to know the origins of meanings. What happened: Resurrection Day vs. Easter Day. While it is most important what the word means in your heart, technically speaking, if you don't agree with something, one should make their expressions clear so this won't be confused or misconstrued as acceptance. For those who didn't know, here is some informational background.

Easter Day:

1. Linguistics Analysis Easter (in the news).

2. The best dictionary definition of Easter is found in the root of its meaning from the mythical goddess: EOSTRE (also known as Ostara or Ishtar), a goddess of the dawn and spring. Wiki: Eostre

3. The King James Version (Acts 12:4) was the only account using the word `Easter`. In fact, this is one of the many points of great divide amongst many religious Christian institutions liberal/orthodox: (Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, Jehovah witnesses etc) of how, what and why "Easter" is recognized/celebrated. In fact, this was so severe that the NKJV (New King James Version) changed this completely.

Illness is a purposeful process of the organism. The process of healing includes the generation of symptoms which are, in fact, an expression of the life force attempting to heal itself. Therapeutic actions should be complementary to and synergistic with this healing process. The treatment actions can support or antagonize the actions of the vis medicatrix naturae -- the natural healing power of the body. Therefore, methods designed to suppress symptoms without removing the underlying causes are considered harmful and to be avoided or minimized.

The healing power of nature: Vis Medicatrix Naturae

The body has an inherent ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. The healing process is ordered and intelligent; nature heals through the response of the life force. The practitioner's role is to facilitate this process, to identify and remove obstacles to health and recovery, and to establish or restore a healthy internal and external environment.

Massage (to improve BOTH the circulatory and lymphatic drainage using physical manipulation):

Cupping MUST BE IMMEDIATELY followed with immediate REDISTRIBUTION of the bruising using an 75% (wt/wt) of WILD COLD PRESSED OLIVE OIL, 5% (wt/wt) of NATURAL COCONUT OIL (wild is extremely difficult to find), 10% (wt/wt) ARNICA MONTANA EXTRACT (bruise reduction),2.5% (wt/wt) HYPERICUM PERFORATUM (analgesic), 2.5% (wt/wt) WILDCRAFTED NEEM OIL (inhibits skin parasites), 5% MAHONIA AQUIFOLIUM (works in conjunction with WILD OLIVE OIL/COCONUT to inhibit virulent germs.

Notes: Remember if you cut out ARNICA/HYPERICUM PERFORATUM (St. John's Wort) -4:1 ratio, the healing will be reduced significantly. 4:1 ratio is crucial. If you want to save costs and reduce Arnica to 1%, then the amount of St.John's Wort must be kept at 0.25%.

The beginning
During the summer of 1993, I got a chance to qualify for the Howard Hughes Medical Fellowship. Like most undergraduates, you work hard because this could be the big break you're looking for and you give it your all! Although scholarships pay for tuition and books, your tummy knows that feeling of hunger. You take on lots of jobs (beyond studying) that are related to what you're good at: math and chemistry so you can build your profile and increase your earnings.

Hunger pangs lead to opportunities
I got noticed by several faculty for doing well academically, motivation and working hard in the laboratories. I was invited to take graduate level classes. They told me the course I was going to be enrolled in would change my life. I would see things differently -forever.

Amongst friends
The name sounded awfully familiar to Group Therapy and my high school friends used joke about me taking this almost 5000 level course in Group Therapy (*smiling and laughing loudly), you'll most certainly solve your middle-age crisis!! One friend Angela (who studied Journalism) said "Hey Gord, sounds interesting remember to tell us what you learned ... I was never really good at studying math or chemistry ..."

Defined: Group therapy can legitimately refer to any form of psychotherapy when delivered in a group format and is explicitly utilised as a mechanism of change by developing, exploring and examining interpersonal relationships within the group.

A class of five
Well, it was January of 1994, second semester of sophomore year and the course was titled Group Theory. The class consisted of five students ages 52, 47, 43, 39 and myself at 19 years old. It was like learning a whole other kind of language with very few speakers. At first, homework would put me to sleep. Then the sleep patterns normalized but the strangest recurring dreams about particles being waves and waves being particles happened (*not too bad because that was just the Schrödinger's cat acting up probably from 1. trying to stay on the Dean's List 2. living in a fraternity as a cook and often times smelling the *second-hand pot* that was burning in the rooms below).

Classes continued and we were deep into the semester.

Defined: Group Theory is one of the most powerful mathematical tools in abstract algebra, combinatorial, matroid theory, Cayley graphs and have led to powerful ideas, concepts and breakthroughs in numerous industries. Abstract mathematics when applied to economics have evolved into Game Theory. The 1944 publication of the book, Theory of Games and Economic Behavior is widely considered the groundbreaking text that created the interdisciplinary research field of Game Theory. The Nash equilibrium (an application of Game Theory) became publicly known after the screensplay "A Beautiful Mind" produced by Akiva Goldsman on the life of John Forbes Nash Jr was released in 2001.

Getting fock'd
Eventually, we were told that we were getting Fock'd. Everyone still had a straight face. Our professor looked at us and agreed the material was sinking in and we had truly gained an appreciation for Fock Space (Fock pdf).

Well youtube did not exist then and even if it did, I didn't have a camera. In doing this piece, we are fortunately able to get a glimpse of a reaction that was similar to Angela's reaction with her friends. If I could see the future 15 years later
Soon it was over and I had been exposed to profound and powerful methods that could change the way drugs could be discovered, solve extremely difficult problems in chemistry, biology, medicine. Later experiences in the life would allow applications in making safer, effective, earth friendly and kind products in beauty, cosmetics, foods, personal care etc. But it all started here at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1994.

Immediate benefits of getting fock'd
This would become a story passed amongst friends for eternity. And friendly remarks that following Fock led me to Pfizer (get it F-> F *friends laughing: birds of a feather flock together?) Another funny comment was I had benefited from being fock'd. But it was true, I had benefited from the mathematics and chemistry background which landed the position at Pfizer. The discoveries and accompishments at Pfizer led to the publication four years later with Tetrahedron Letters (1998). One time during a client dinner, a nearby table's a kid asked his Mommy, "Is Tetrahedron a dinosaur?"

Business World: Internet & Finance
It often appeared to me that the finance world knew alot about "four letter words" for stocks listed on the Nasdaq exchange but they were never heard of this four letter word "fock". This starts to show why pay-per-click, search engine optimization and marketing/financial strategies fail. They don't consider enough key variables. In fact, solutions labeled diversification are provided but the general system becomes non-diversifiable due to large populations doing the same thing.

We started to be able to help companies see the benefits of this principle towards optimization parameters and another four letter word was selected that described the overview of the system: Directed Combinatorial Algorithmic Library (aka DCAL). It contains a modified form of the fock matrix in addition to powerful algorithmic library generation that incorporates business, economic and mathematical principles.

Algorithm F
The proper data collection needs to be verified in equilibrium with an initial hypothesis and direction. In laymen's term is if you're going to look for a needle in a haystack, you should at least know you're looking for a needle. Unless you have unlimited time and an unlimited budget. Acoustics is the interdisciplinary science that deals with the study of sound, ultrasound and infrasound (all mechanical waves in gases, liquids, and solids). There are formulas that exist for sound intensity, sound pressure, particle velocity and acoustic impedence.

Measurement of sound to determine diaphragm enhanced breathing (DEB) vs. non-diaphragm enhanced breathing (non-DEB) when evaluated with wound care has yielded incredible results. It has been shown that there is a direct correlation with the individual's health specifically healing rates (already a measure of time) vs. time indicates that the healing acceleration is increased.

This was accomplished using our company's intellectual property: GY-DCAL (Dr. Gordon & Yourself Solutions Together: Directed Combinatorial Algorithmic Library). This has generated a wide array of data that is difficult to comprehend for many (example -as can be seen in the comments). =D

Using GY-DCAL in DEB research has provided an enormous level of +ve data and the necessity of voice training beyond stage performance or public speaking but instead for the everyday person! We've found that the phrase: "Having the wind knocked out of you!" is physiologically correct. When the wind (or air) is not able to flow deep into the lungs, the amount of proper exchange time is decreased considerably. The lungs both intake air to support life but also detoxify the living system by allowing air (CO2) to be removed. By increasing your DEB rating, you will experience dramatic changes in weight, complexion, and your voice will 'sound' dramatically different. To be able to show this impact has been very fascinating for myself and our team since the mathematics part is often the part no one wants to work on. I have literally 'heard' the difference in people who have increased their DEB rating and they even sound better over the telephone.

Note: Yoga and Pilates both teach breathing exercises using the diaphragm. Like many systems that teach utilizing the diaphragm, they don't allow the customer to instantly see the measurement of the +ve benefits as a mathematical number. With GY-DCAL, the data is real time and each session can be evaluated on how much improvement took place between sessions. Regular yoga and pilates training does not mean your DEB number will be increased. In fact, you can tell by asking someone to sing. The GY-DCAL data shows unless your breathing is matched with your ability to project sound, it doesn't qualify as a higher DEB unit.

For readers who are interested in measuring sound, microphone distortion is also a huge problem. We insist on Neumann Berlin microphones (corporate website) with polar pattern of super/hypercardiod condenser microphone operating on phantom power.

High quality microphones serve to "capture" the voice. The mixer, interface and output (i.e. Bang & Olufsen) should not be neglected but where much data is missed/lost due to distortion is at the input. A poor selection of the microphones (i.e. karaoke microphones) to pick up sound can ruin your music or in our case the GY-DCAL DEB data.

The private interview doesn't go into DEB research (that would be too boring unless you had difficulties trying to sleep) but it does allow you to get a first hand glimpse into the life of a professional and multi-talented singer: Shairah. According to GY-DCAL: Her intense number of followers and her sexy voice has a high correlation with her high DEB rating. She's fun and interviews well!! Her own previous traumatic experience (listen on clip#3/4) is another example of how a higher DEB rating can help you rebound and heal quickly. No one can know when an accident can happen to them but having a higher DEB rating is like having insurance for a rainy day. If it storms, you definitely want to have banked on positively increasing your DEB number. BTW: Interestingly, the wrong exercises and poor singing methods can also lower your DEB number.

The wrong algorithm can be costly to society and the consumer (2 cases) ...

1. Our financial mess and economic losses are an example of what happens when improper algorithms are utilized.

2. Unfortunately, cumulative losses rarely engage in implementing a new algorithm due to professionals lack of understanding and almost mechanical reliance on the older methodologies.

3. Example #1: PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen Test):

A. The algorithm chosen does not consider that PSA testing is inaccurate (Two major studies have confirmed: The popular PSA test save few lives and often lead to risky and unnecessary treatments for large numbers of men.

B. Complete disregard for financial pressures: Knowing that you're now PSA + significantly impacts your coverage/insurance options (this becomes the insured's problem and counseling does not incorporate this).

C. Prostate cancer is progresses slowly, however, surgical manipulations can significantly increase the risk of metastasis (malignant spreading to other areas of the body).

D. Patients under treatment have actually died when avoiding treatment could have prolonged lives.

E. Doctors that undergo daily routine screens are unable to advise due to liability and therefore full reliance on the algorithm is at stake. Therefore, the success of the patient depends on the quality of the algorithm.

4. Example #2: Auto insurance needs a dynamic and mathematics based algorithm that has horizontal and vertical analysis rather than outdated +ve/-ve pathways:

Insurance companies prefer 'good' customers. The ones that make regular payments (without being delinquent) and don't have claims. This is a simple formula that can wreak havoc when expanded without an advanced approach.

A. Insurance companies are complaining: The 'good' pool size of individuals has becomes increasingly difficult to find as times change leading to unstable revenues.

B. Patrons and customers should ask their agents: How do the monies collected in revenues help to enhance the 'good' pool size so that a positive and larger 'good' pool can even exist? In lay terms, do insurance companies use their profits to help their definition of not-desirables become desirables, effectively?

C. Current targets set by insurance companies are not based on a dynamic combinatorial algorithm library (DCAL):

Desirable: Higher credit scores; Higher education; Full coverage on their vehicles; Continuous coverage; Lives in good areas; Owns a home; Between ages 22- 60 ; without claims in the past 3 years; Owns multiple cares versus single cars or lease; no health risks

Undesirable: Inner City- Urban areas; No/low Education; Liability only coverages; Poor credit history; Prior claims; Lapse in coverage; Old cars; contains health risks

D. Targeting without DCAL are poor ways to identify your sample size. In fact, it can lead to more problems over time. For example: Category Desirable vs. Category Undesirable can 'shift' and being a homeowner can be increasingly riskier than a renter who can leave and live in a city or country with more jobs (i.e. foreclosures). Without using DCAL, being an owner is 100%desirable and being a renter is 100% undesirable. Another example: Urban areas that offer mass transportation would mean that drivers have more options to avoid high accident time periods leading to lower accidents. Without using DCAL, urban living is considered 100% undesirable.

E. Here is another indicator that having an algorithm with "macro-indicators" will help. It states that during anytime, whenever the volatility indicator (also known as the 'fear' index rises and stays above 40 units for 6 consecutive months, a dynamic shift in the consumer markets and behavior will occur). Most companies don't use algorithms because mathematics is scary or unknown to them. The companies that do invest in some form of tracking don't crunch certain information due to the costs of implementation/maintenance

This is a consumer accessible example of the volatility index showing that we've maintained above 40 units from September 26, 2008 through March 31 2009 (6+ consecutive months). There is also meaning when consecutive Presidential terms contain a 40 unit spike (Clinton adminstration (1993-2001) , Bush administration (2001-2009) and Obama administration (2009-present) ) that policies are not holding up, increased stresses exists on the current model and external forces are eating away at the financial and political foundation. Consumers and companies must adapt or suffer the consequences:

"If you live without direction or decisions, then someone or something will provide you with directions or decisions that you may not desire" ... Pastor 2001

F. What would happen if these monies are instead used to insure financial companies that make bad bets on the stock market? And would this lead to higher premiums and lesser terms for the average consumer trying to purchase insurance? (i.e. AIG)

5. Conclusion: Older and costly algorithms need to be replaced with highly effective methodologies to consider outcome effects. These are called directed combinatorial algorithm libraries (DCAL).

The current prostate cancer algorithm is only a stepwise path of positive/negatives without an integration of mathematical considerations formulated to account for and to consider that prostate cancer is extremely slow growing and left unchanged poses little to no risk. If detected, confounds the insurance carriers model of finding healthy customers for both auto and health insurance.

The current insurance module is incomplete, inaccurate and unsustainable. Insurance carriers must account for better ratios in case there is an environmental plethora of disasters that appear due to climate change. The current ratio does not provide adequate protections and could cripple the already overburdened consumer.

During the past 2 decades, numerous public opinions have been formulated on whether cell phone or electrical powerlines have a cause-effect relationship to cellular damage.

A Balanced Viewpoint Is Necessary:

On a public health perspective, no options have been provided should there be a problem. Independent unverifiable products such as radiation sinks and discs that "claim" to provide safety sales are on the rise due to consumers who have identified with these risks.

Unless the problem is openly discussed, there can be no distinct clarification on precautions related to cell phone and bluetooth usage.

If EMF radiation damage is a negative contributor to acute/chronic health risks, this needs to be openly discussed. Solutions need to be provided to reduce possible health impacts to the unaware/uninformed consumer.

Numerous health disasters have occurred historically due to lack of an agreement on the scope of harm (i.e. asbestos & mesothelioma, cigarette smoke, phthalates, lead paint). To wait for policy based on litigation would be a passive oversight given the potential data that appears before us. 1. Beef (Mad Cow's) & Lamb/Goat (Scrapies): The rising incidence of Prions w/o proven methodologies of control means consumers should reduce consumption immediately:

In the past 10 years, you may have heard about something called mad cow's disease. Despite whether or not you encounter this in the food, prions are by far the least understood and beyond nasty when compared with viruses, bacteria and fungi.
So from an infectious disease standpoint, you should stay away from any meats that are capable of getting "mad" or infected by prions. According to researchers' and activists such as Dr. Day, consumers should understand that bovine and humans, sheeps/goats and humans can all get infected by prions. Anytime the risks to consumption are so great to your health and your loved ones, you should start to reduce your consumption of beef and lamb products.

2. Bird Flu: Until avian flu and related viral strains are consistently controlled and regularly reproducible, fowl consumption will remain a epidemiological risk to humans.

In the past 5 years, the word bird flu has been on a dramatic rise. The reason for the fears is because it has been found to cross-infect humans. The sheer mass production involved in farming fowl and the practices in the industry have setup a perfect storm for a major viral outbreak. While viruses are significantly less feared than prions, viruses are the second worse infectious disease to be reckoned with. Viruses of notoriety include Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Ebola Virus, Avian Virus (H5N1), Rhinovirus (common cold), Herpes Virus, Cytomegalovirus (CMV) etc etc.

Even infectious diseases in computers are called computer 'viruses' rather than computer bacteria or computer fungi to highlight the rapid spread and lethality of the disease.

3. Pork Aside from vegetarians being safe from red alert meats, pork eaters will be glad to know that modern day pork is a very safe alternative to beef/chicken due to excellent measures in past decades within the pork industry:

Once thought of as the dirtiest animal on the planet, has come a long way of cleaning up itself (i.e Pulp Fiction Restaurant Scene).

With refrigeration and freezer technology, even trichinosis (parasitic worms) are becoming a historical memory rather than a current phenomenon. Freezing kills trichinella and other bacteria. In addition, trichinella is only found in carnivorous animals. By mandating that pigs either eat vegetarian pellet food or grass diets rather than raw meats, trichinella was significantly reduced in the last decades. Major reports from the Centers for Disease & Control as well as notable writeups in Chowhound and others had already started the re-initiation of pork as the cleaner and safer alternative.

Definition of Feminism: Belief that women should have equal political, social, sexual, intellectual and economic rights to men.

Historically, this has caused a great divide amongst traditional feminists who believe that the beauty industry is made to prey upon the weaker females and to increase their sufferings.

The movie Malèna is set in 1940 Italy during World War II. During these poverty stricken times, a woman's beauty was shunned by the villagers.

Recent statement by feminists:
"The more legal and material hindrances women have broken through, the more strictly and heavily and cruelly images of female beauty have come to weigh upon us ... During the past decade, women breached the power structure; meanwhile, eating disorders rose exponentially and cosmetic surgery became the fastest-growing specialty ... pornography became the main media category, ahead of legitimate films and records combined, and millions of women worldwide have told researchers that they would rather lose ten to fifteen pounds than achieve any other goal ... More women have more money and power and scope and legal recognition than we have ever had before; but in terms of how we feel about ourselves physically, we may actually be worse off than our unliberated grandmothers!!"

Historically:
Women had a role in balancing the family.

The feminist movement while real became quickly used by marketers, economists and corporations. After World War II, tough economic times were abound and marketing efforts for treating women as equals was the perfect answer to increasing the income of the family. This would allow educational, property and general taxes to be increased substantially. Affordability would rise and pretty soon, consumption would follow. The amount of time that women would lose eventually could be offset by buying consumer goods. The damages to family life would create new social work opportunities as well as attorney's career based on divorce cases.

Point of No Return, "The Perfect Woman Idea":

In 1969, Vogue magazine made the breakthrough that has evolved into the cast-iron Beauty Myth of today.

"Vogue began to focus on the body as much as on the clothes ... In a stunning move, an entire replacement culture was developed by naming a 'problem' where it had scarcely existed before, centering it on the women's natural state, and elevating it to the existential female dilemma ...

The number of diet-related articles rose 70 percent from 1968 to 1972 ... The lucrative 'transfer of guilt' was resurrected just in time."

We are bombarded today with images of the "perfect" woman. She is tall and willowy, weighing at least 20% less than what her height requires. She rarely looks older than 25, has no visible flaws on her skin, and her hair and clothes are always immaculate. One "perfect woman" looks pretty much like the next; she is essentially not human, interchangeable and disposable. In fact, quite often she is presented in bits and pieces like a mannequin- -a torso, some legs, a shapely fanny--completing the assembly- line metaphor.

Today's culture judges women, and women judge themselves, against this standard. And if you're not perfect or strive to be perfect, you could easily lose your relationship.

Smarter consumers are noticing that there is more than just ingredients and packaging on a bottle just like all great stories use words found in any dictionary. How the words are put together makes all the difference.

By being creative with his combination/formulation of words into powerful sentences, Charles Dickens was the most popular English novelist during the Victorian era!!

Skincare and beauty formulation is no different. While there are many formulations on the market, how you sequentially combine them will ultimately lead to different results. The "how" of combining is determined by your philosophy. If you have the wrong philosophy, the formulation maybe enjoyed as hype but not as a long lasting approach to beauty.

Hype can cause pain & suffering:

1980's - 2009 version of healthy: Diet & exercise

Counting your calories (no regard to food source (mold, toxins, preservatives), storage conditions (moist vs. dry, overheated juices in bottles are cooled only at the stores) or combination of the foods (some foods should never be combined i.e. tomatoes + potatoes) )

Exercising in enclosed environments = increase your metabolism and just burn it off (Gym, Yoga etc. in locations that could have either mold or sick building syndrome.)

According to some leading researchers, "this has lead to more cases of chronic sicknesses since sliced bread!!"

5 Day Hermit Crab Study on Sugar + Mold Generation:
A mold study with Caribbean Hermit Crabs indicates that substance CC (aka substance double C) enables the species to be resistant to mold and to protect the surroundings. However, this protection can be compromised if the sugar level is artificially escalated above its threshold. In the experiment, the sugar level is raised for 5 days using a 2" slice of Asian pear. The substance CC is unable to stop the mold growth especially at contact with the Asian pear due to an overabundance of mold food (sugar). While substance CC remains protective to the Caribbean Hermit Crabs, the sand has become compromised. If the conditions are not changed, the health of the hermit crab will be decreased due to the overproduction of substance CC. At some point, the advancing growth stages of the mold will eventually harm the hermit crab.

Unfortunately, humans don't produce substance CC. And numerous complaints can arise from allergies to headaches and even cancer.

Human Species Earn & Burn Concept Fails to Prevent Chronic Metabolic Disorders:

Counting calories does not distinguish which foods will provide a complete burn, create residual waste, reactive by-products or irratic swings in the metabolism.

Adrenal insufficiency

Thyroid (hypo/hyper)

Many forms of cancer

Medical definition:

Diabetes is the name given to a collection of diseases that have elevations in blood glucose levels in common. Population studies have defined cutoff levels of glycemia that are eventually associated with increased microvascular disease such as retinopathy. Two replicate fasting levels that exceed 126 mg/dl (>7 mM) are diagnostic in the absence of symptoms. Persons with fasting levels between 110 and 126 mg/dl are at risk of diabetes (impaired fasting glycemia). Replicate, 2-h glycemic responses >200 mg/dl (>11.1 mM) after a standard oral glucose tolerance test indicates diabetes also. This stage is often reached, however, before the fasting glucose levels are seen to rise. Type 1 diabetes comprises those forms of diabetes that are primarily due to insulin deficiency, however a relative insulin deficiency also is part of type 2 diabetes, which is however less severe, though it is compounded by degrees of insulin resistance, often associated with obesity. Long-term type 2 diabetes is complicated by glucose (glucosamine) toxicity, which decreases the patients' abilities to secrete insulin further, leading to diagnostic confusion with type 1 diabetes. Whereas type 2 diabetes is usually strongly familial, type 1 is much less so, having only one member of the family so affected in 90 percent of cases.

Topic for another time:
Perhaps the unstoppable rising costs of healthcare will make us all evaluate whether the excessive prescribing of medications is helpful or harmful on a longer term basis.

In Conclusion:

Peace, equality and love need to be supported together. It is clearly evident that feminism has been utilized by the beauty industry as a lucrative marketing tool preying on the disatisfied working woman and her desires. This has left the unsuspecting female consumer to be burdened with the stark reality that these miracle promises come at an even heavier price.

Dr. Chiu firmly believes that the current ecological, economic, educational and health problems have created a perfect storm for change. Consumers will be increasingly critical and requiring the companies step up in their 'works'. If they are going to buy something, it had better be:

Safe

Effective

Earth Friendly

Kind

Over the weekend, I was inducted as an honorary professor at Open University Hong Kong.

This reminded me about the movie: Flash of Genius (2008) which shows us why we should get an education.

I am able to run companies, have titles, teach, even do research programs with an independence and at locations that would otherwise not be possible.

The real costs:

However, some students started asking me the real costs of my education. Back in 1992, with scholarships, the total costs per year were $5000. At the same schools, the costs would be 40,000 USD/year:

Older student asks: I am choosing to abandon my spouse (both children are over 18) and leave the state. I have debt (equity line) with him I was pressured into signing for a summer residence to be built (the residence is in his name). I want no part of any assets we acquired together and will not seek a divorce, he will have to get it by default. Will I be liable for anything?

1. Educators need to seek compensation and salary outside of schools so that the cost to each student can be significantly decreased
2. Faculty need to be recruited who enjoy and desire teaching with a passion rather than treat this as another job
3. New institutions need to be willing to barter (apprenticeship time as a trade-off for lowered costs of tuition) at earlier levels rather than at post-doctoral levels
4. The costs of education need to be greatly evaluated on their value-added especially in light of rising global unemployment.

1. How bad are things? It is just beginning to get bad.

2. With wage expectations and costs of living/healthcare prohibitive to lower wages, double the amount of existing American dollars will need to be printed. This means the value of money will be decreased and people will need to work harder to be able to afford the same. This move will create a unique effect on solving the cost of labor. By devaluing the currency, everyone will be forced to accept lowered wages.

3. Of course, there is the constant witch hunt for 'who did it' and the Bank of America subpeona is a prime example of more to come. It is interesting how many millionaires were created during the financial fallout. What has the world come to?

4. Thoughts? Worried at work? Maybe you should fire yourself and get an early start. At least your in control of who is getting fired. This is what some experts have suggested: Some of the best companies have resulted from founders deciding to fire themselves before they were axed.

Today, I was reviewing various songs to use as breakpoints for the radio show. I paused during Aquarius by 5th Dimension. The year was 1969. I wondered how things were so I took a peak at unemployment rates, population rates and the average home price. Wow, times have really changed in 2009. Today, we are approaching 10% unemployment in certain areas, have about 30% more people and the average home is 10 times more expensive.

Meaning of Life?

I was just asked again, what is my favorite book and when I said The Holy Bible ... The next question is what did you like about it, what part?

I love every part of it!

I do have two books that I particularly like: The Book of Ecclesiastes and The Book of Psalms.

The book of Ecclesiastes are writings from a real historical man named King Solomon (son of King David) who had everything you could possibly imagine! I've been amazed at the depth and meaning each time I pick them up and read them!!

The Book of Psalms is incredibly soothing and one of my favorites is Psalm 23.

King David's words are often used in movies, theatricals, funerals and you read them in your spare moments. I've always read these words before any major event or appearance.

I've included the full copy of my first international paper submitted over a decade ago. It shows you that no matter what walk of life you come from the Bible's words are applicable and quite amazing. I learned to speak a different language understood by only my scientific community. My feelings of excitement were difficult to describe as a young man. I could call up my high school friends and family in Asia but they wouldn't really know what I had to do to get here. It didn't matter, I was overjoyed. But this would be a fleeting moment, like all the material things that get stashed into corner. 1997-1998 was a like a blur to me. Everything was happening so fast!

Has a lot really changed? If you look at 1997, the Dow Jones Industrial Averages was also around 8,000. I was just starting out into the workforce. Little did any of us know that 12 years later, we would be back at 8,000! And in 1997, we unemployment was much lower than it is now. And when people ask can it go lower? Perhaps reading the whole book of Ecclesiastes will help you determine that answer ...

I wonder what other religions say ...

Beautiful Skin

Over 95% of babies enter into this world with near perfect skin. But then over time, our chemical filled environment starts to eat into our skin causing a multitude of blemishes.

I've always applied naturals onto my skin and avoided these four key points in any skincare product:

1. Parabens (methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, butyl prefixes don't matter, if you see the word parabens, don't put it. But it contains rose hips or vitamin C ... it doesn't matter what else it contains if it isn't made right).

2. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauroyl sulfate (once again, there are lots of names for the 'L' portion of the word, but if it contains this in the ingredients, say no regardless of what else it may contain).

3. Where is it made? Just like real estate: location, location, location! If it is made in China or certain parts of Asia, the fact is no matter how many filters they use, it is still going to contain by-products from industrial facilities (I won't even listen to the 'what else is in there', just say NO).

4. No animal (four legged by-products, these don't have good storage/shelf-life compared to plant sources)

Over the years, I've consulted for a vast number of skincare product companies on the how-to's in making products. It is certainly lots of fun, full of glamour and excitement seeing major marketing dollars thrown in so many directions. I've seen personalities from founders of major brands that remind me of Snow White's step mother ... but that's a whole other topic. =D

My friend Michael put together this spoof vid of some engagements, I've been allowed to publicly share. It is quite a sight and his song selection of "Beautiful Girls" makes it all the more amusing. It may allow you to have insight into the vast beauty industry (behind the scenes). This may help explain why every woman keeps searching/changing products once they realize its no longer working. Some argue that it never really did.

As a professional, I would say loading of chemicals have definitely compromised the any good intentions on performance. And for the pure natural products, the ingredients are often mismatched with an obsession towards the word natural. Just like making a dish, you need balance, you can't just throw wild pineapples, wild pork and a wonderful natural gelato together and mix it up for dinner. The ingredients needs to work together but because that takes the longest time in learning, it is the least sexy or attractive.

I am very glad to help them but goliath like companies and their sheer size just don't allow certain methodological approaches to be applied. I've also done talks on the diets and the tummy's and while there is a product for everything ... the real secret is in the quality of what you buy, knowing the parameters of how to choose and living out some not so basic rules!

Here's one not so basic rule:

Profits and beauty just don't go well together!

Over a decade ago, I visited thee impeccable pristine locations in the Caribbean Islands and in the Himalayan mountains. This left a lasting philosophical impact on me with regards to natural beauty. The reasons you don't think of your local farmers as being beautiful is because of all the chemical fertilizers being pumped into the soils. They end up getting very high levels of exposure and the bacteria are not friendly but instead aggressive. Even organically grown doesn't compare to the waters from an untouched tropical island or the heart of a rainforest.

My earlier years in dermatology research with Dr. Huachen Wei encountered another valuable lesson. We were after a compound called alpha santalol derived from Sandalwood oil. My colleagues had run out of this material but the findings were so intriguing because our data indicated that rat skin tumors were reversible with alpha santalol. Our original batch was from Indonesia but the costs to extract, distill under vacuum (to not damage the compound) and then purify had driven the material costs to > $100,000 USD/oz. In attempts to get a faster and more reliable source, we had purchased batches that would be sold to retailers i.e. Bath & Body Works. The end product had barely any alpha santalol. If we proceeded, this would end up costing >> $5,000,000 USD/oz due to wastage from overlapping compounds with no therapeutic value towards cancer.

It has definitely been a journey of appreciation and growth. Understanding that the vast secrets in beauty lie within the natural minimally touched resources of the Earth. We always learned that when you impede blood flow you can have infection and gangrene. And so on the face, when you botox, there is less movement and an increased impedence. While this is not enough to cause gangrene it negatively impacts on color and reduces blood flow to the skin's surface.

Becoming Engaged (8hrs of Practice)

Today's photo session, taught me a valuable lesson on engagement with the camera. There are lots of 'how-to' in the world including 'how-to' photograph a person. I never imagined there could be a 'how-to' be photographed.

This time preparation for new headshot involved looking at my past headshots and learning from them. Today's lesson was on developing`the moment` with your audience (through a photograph).

At first, I didn't see her point. But now, I understand. How you look at someone should reflect how much you care about them! But since the camera is not a person, it is easy to misfire, backfire or not-fire your feelings the way you want. Somehow this is not a problem for Simpy (my dog). I discovered that I had a long way to go before I am as good as Simpy when she looks at me. =D

Background:

1. In 2007, I had given permission to have my visits with Colin Andrews filmed.
2. Colin agreed.
3. I asked to be notified BEFORE it was publicly released due to timing of confidential data in my research.
4.. In 2008, fans/friends informed me they saw the full version and sent a `video of the video` (see below).

Problems with the release:
1. While Colin is an expert in the field of paranormal research, this is an extremely controversial area.
2. The amount of controversy with CropCircle hoax related media made our meeting seem like a perfect segway into the battle between science and pseudoscience, charlatans and snake oil.
3. I respect him as a friend/person.
4. Our meeting was not on CropCircles (for those who question about my appearance in the film)

Some thoughts:
If you wanted to prove, on a clear night, there are stars in the sky, you would need the proper equipment. But if you did not have the proper camera, this doesn't mean that stars don't exist.

In this article, let me share with you about the hermit crab (Coenobita clypeatus). The hermit crab is a symbol and reminder of our teenage years. Did you know it is one of the few pets in teh shops and online that cannot and will not reproduce in captivity? Merchants are constantly balancing the supply chain because they must be captured from the wild.

During my study of this species, we have found the hermit crab is very effective in transforming the soil beyond nutrient rich. The hermit crab inhabited soil contains a substantially better base for encouraging seed germination rates. A comparison of germination rates of wild soil vs. standard soil samples show how the hermit crab plays a crucial role in positively benefiting soil recovery programs with a large potential for the agriculture industry.

Under captivity (i.e. pet stores and homes), anti-substance CC is released. In the wild, substance CC helps promote seed germination while reducing the competitive advantage of germs & mold. Many merchants and business owners never have the opportunity to understand why hermit crabs don't mate within captivity. The answer lies in the production of anti-substance CC. This material causes increased stress in the hermit crab and ultimately reduces their life force/vitality. Interestingly, anti-substance CC and stress are highly correlated.

While increasing natural diets does improve the hermit crab, in captivity, anti-substance CC will be released and shortens the lifespan of the hermit crab. The inability to reproduce the species under captivity shows us how limited our understanding of mimicking natural habitats remains.

A greater question arises, if this is happening in hermit crabs, what might be happening in our own biological systems? Historical studies indicate that improper living environments (food, exercise, stress, chemicals etc) can negatively impact your overall health. For example, eating high fructose corn syrup can lead to greater tooth decay, diabetes and additional metabolic diseases.

A Financial Wake Up:
Many of us know, investing in a college education will allow you the potential to earn at least $25,000 USD/year more than if you did not go to college. Over 40 years, this amounts to $1,000,000 USD in additional spending power. As a health critic, I have seen many things being done in the business world "just to make a profit". By re-packaging them into smaller packages without the knowledge of the manufacturer, they can sell these for increased margins.

When uncovered, they responded, "it" never went out to the public. We were just testing the idea ... that's all. It was just for samples.

Most people only 'know of' the Christopher Columbus Day or Martin Luther King Jr Day (parade) as a federally observed holiday. Few notice that only three federally observed holidays Washington, Columbus and Martin Luther King are observed with an individuals' name.
Some people are outraged and are out to "un"celebrate Martin Luther King Day due to the evidence that is stacked before them.

(1) Stanford University's 1984/86 Martin Luther King's Papers

(2) University of Nebraska -Lincoln's Professor of Chemistry: Gerard Harbison and doctorate of Harvard University is enraged, publishes (link) and joins the "un"celebration team and does not revere Dr. King.

(3) Alan Stang leads the charge against Dr. King's credibility.

(4) Was Senator John McCain avoiding this controversial point? He comments that he did not know enough about Martin Luther King's contributions when he voted against the observance as a national holiday at 47 years of age (Youtube recap).

Nobelaureate: Martin Luther King Jr. was born in a time of great controversy. His attempts at resolving peace through nonviolence would lead to significant changes in view towards racism. If you look beyond "man-made" education and ivory tower distinction of degrees and start to put yourself in the context of living together in harmony, you start to see what kinds of people would argue points 1-5. There is a higher level of accomplishments that make Dr. King's life worth noting.

According to a recent Goldman Sachs article, in the not-so-distant future, fighting over natural resources is sure to return. If the economic recovery takes hold and demand returns, there will once again be a fight over who owns the land, who owns the natural resources.

Like Martin Luther King Jr., the Chinese who have continued to work hard and persevere have come under much discrimination and hatred attacks.

Over dinner, I overheard someone comment that the reason for the economic crisis is the Chinese culture's frugal spending habits. The remark was "those damn Chinese who eat their own children are ... " The rest of the guests were shocked at the dinner table. The strangest thing was they were at a Chinese restaurant!!

If China was not working with the United States on spending to stabilize the global crisis and financial tsunami then what is the nearly 600 billion USD stimulus plan about (News article 1)?

These titles lead to more hatred and fears about the Chinese:

(1) Can China save the Global economy?

(2) Walmart Equals China

(3) Children posting Youtube comments on Chinese & Eating Fetuses

(4) Clinton turns to China Bashing (News article 2)

For the Chinese in China and around the world, we have amassed an incredible growth surge in wealth by embracing sacrifice, hardwork and perseverence. Every difficulty thrown at us, we have bent like a blade of grass. Cases like the 2008 Olympics tensions increased between Chinese activists and Carrefour are bound to return in the future.

In my own observations, numerous Chinese researchers and postdoctorates remain degreeless and bounded by universities because their work is "unfinished" and they are not U.S. citizens. When I was younger, comments flourished that Chinese are like monkeys. They do the work.

Even in 2009, for the Chinese we keep quiet. If we get laughed at, we try to roll with the punches and make the most of things (i.e. William Hung, Bruce Lee's initial USA film career).

Somehow, you could just feel the anger and hatred in gentleman's words at the Chinese restaurant. He was enraged against the Chinese for doing well and blaming them for his and the world's problems. And so his words were chosen to describe all Chinese in a context of barbaric in nature based on these news articles (Chinese/English).

Just like the life of Martin Luther King Jr and the arguments that continue today, discrimination exists in all parts of the world. A student who earns better grades will be looked upon differently than one who struggles. A person who has worked in corporations such as Bear Sterns will appear more special than one who works at a small bank. God has a strange way of setting things right again (in His own timing).

And speaking of God's timing, tomorrow is a very special event that will change history forever. It is the official inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama to be the 56th President of the United States (video of construction site).

We need to put aside our differences and realize our similarities as human beings. Only then can we advance ourselves as a civilization. While we continue to fight and argue, our planet is dying with an exponential elimination of other species and vegetation. Just like African classroom (see below), let's do our best to play nicely with harmony, peace and understanding.

Public Orgasm & Masturbation (Defendant claims it was the stress)

Case Study:

The court case goes back to September of 2008. The incident was on July 31, 2008, when Chiu Yu-kit, a journalist at ATV had to quit his job after being caught masturbating on a public bus without any clothing at 1am. Yu-kit commented, "there wasn't anyone on the top tier and I was doing it out of stress".

Class Notes:

For students: This public case should allow you to think about the stress level of the metropolitan society. Your examinations will not have right/wrong answers with the exception of facts. When citing examples, make sure the case is publicly filed with references. Fabricating news materials will result in failure.

Reading materials:

(1) Hypersexuality has been defined as the subjective experience of loss of control over sexuality (Catalan and Singh, 1995).

These behaviours may include compulsive masturbation, dependence on anonymous sexual outlets like pornography, or telephone sex, and repetitive promiscuity involving using people as sexual objects.

Current Medical Treatments:

(6) Serotonin, Androgens and Hypersexuality (post treatment with estrogen, do you feel there would be any side effects to the individual?)

Medical Controversy:

(7) Joycelyn Elders, first black U.S. Surgeon General, was targeted for her approach that masturbation should be taught in schools as a means to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. (8) If so many abnormalities in hormonal levels can lead to hypersexuality, then the possibility of imbalance should be addressed from levels such as hormonal-mimetics (chemicals that are not hormones but act like them in our system) in our water supplies, food, ecosystems (i.e. insecticide, fenoxycarb) as well as detrimental side effects of pharmaceutically modifying natural compounds such as horny goat weed: icariin thus preventing full metabolism and permantizing hypersexuality. An external environmental (food, water, chemical contaminants) vector could be the cause if autistic children are experiencing hypersexual tendencies (autism&hypersexual abstract).

(9) Is Yu-kit's case legitimately addressed by the courts, by quiting his job, by exercising? Some experts believe the next level in society is to follow Rome. If #8 is true, our methodology of treatment if flawed. Furthermore, Yu-kit was never evaluated for bipolar tendencies (hypersexuality has a strong link with bipolar), for adrenal gland hyperfunction, cancers (adenoma). In the Netherlands (a place where multiple feminizing toxins are found), you have websites for women PSAS (Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome) and RGS (Restless Genital Syndrome).

(10) Sexual equipment and international websites are being marketed as outlets that will reduce crime and promote mutual relationships In the United States, surveys indicate 76% of young adults agree that pro-masturbation is a better pathway for tension relief. Is this proper management of societal issues?

(11) Articles (Times Online UK) from a researcher discuss how wealthy men give women more orgasms and Pollet & Nettle both believe female orgasm is an evolutionary homing device that allows women to be rewarded for finding better survival mechanisms. Do you believe this research article and these websites (Mutual Partnerships/Sugar Daddy, Masturbation Passion etc) should be advertised together under similar keyword searches? Does Hong Kong/public media enable cases such as Yu-kit to recover or make it more difficult via embarassment tactics?

(12) Placement of the advertisement is indicative of the buy/sell aspects of who will be more likely to make a purchase when viewing the news. In Hong Kong's Standard, it is believed to be those who are young, going to schools or in the business/financial industry.

Recently, a Forbes article "The Great College Hoax" discussed what it means to get a college education and whether or not you really reap the rewards of going through school.

In every effort of dispelling the truth, only for members, one can only speak from experience. The cost of college, masters and medical/doctoral programs with living amounted to over 1.8 M USD in experience, education & training (want to see, I've kept all the receipts). Should you live like a pauper? And what are the costs to becoming publicly known? I've been asked to start divulging the 11 Progressive Money Saving Tips because I lived it during these past 16 years. Every transcript and degree is exposed (with receipts, food bills, expenditures) because it was real evidence of the hard at times. Taking out a loan is not going to solve your problems because the interest is paid before the principal. A real way to destroy a relationship is to marry a sweetheart who is also mired in loans because the reality sinks in. So if you're looking to go to college and to graduate 100% debt free ... how would you do it?

Business is all around you because the sad truth is it costs $ and lots of it to become something. These are no times to go into debt and definitely not to be spending money on higher education unless you know there is a going to be demand.

Question: Is college and graduate education a hoax?

Answer: No. But it is very expensive and if you make the wrong moves, reality bites and it bites hard. Like purchasing anything you need to be a wise consumer. Bankruptcy is real and credit scores are very real. Employers will be looking at your credit scores in order to hire in employees and management that will be dedicated and focused. It is really a catch 22. If you live a frugal life, you won't be able to build your score either. So focusing your spending to build credit is critical (you've got 4 yrs). I needed one more year, so I delayed my graduation while holding a 3.97 GPA. Because I did that, the credit part was about 150 pts higher in 1997 vs. 1996.

Question: Is medical education worth it?

Answer: It depends on how much you love something because they say love is always embracing and forgiving of all things. Don't go into medicine for the affluence. That's telling yourself the greatest lie. You will forever need to serve the public and it is important to live a transparent and responsible life. Another recent Forbes article, "Docs in Hock" goes into some details. The article is very slanted because it still states that doctors are doing better than the rest of the public. The real truth is that the medical system is extremely overstressed and was already in junk rated territory decades ago. The musical chairs game stopped on Wall Street but not in modern medicine. As long as we continue to finance the game using research dollars derived with tax payer monies (War on Cancer, War on AIDS) ... regardless of the cure rates, doctors & researchers will have their higher salaries.

Question: You mentioned that your own medical school was in financial turmoil and reduced to junk bond rating, can you explain?

Answer: I suggest you take a look at the following blog link. The articles are all there. I am more than willing to go into the details after you get some hard facts. Financial turmoil, September 11, these were all true. I was young then and students don't know to look at the financials and what it means. You feel on top of the world to get into these programs because of staggering numbers of people getting rejected. Kind of like VIP status. It is like an artist getting their first concert or debut of their CD only to realize this is only the beginning of a nightmare that few will understand.

Question: Will the subprime crisis bleed into student loans?

Answer: Absolutely. The crisis is deepening and I expect over 50% of student loans to be picked up by private third party. This will be much higher interest rates. Forbes does a short coverage on the subprime student loan crisis. It is poorly done because it doesn't quite give the reader a clear depiction of what this really means.

Chinese New Year (A Not So Happy Time For Most)

This year (2009) is going to turn out to be a really tough one.

In China:
Hardest-hit have been areas that depend on exports, which fell 2.8 percent in December compared with 2007. This is a painful decline from double-digit growth earlier in 2008. Thousands of factories in the southeast that made toys, shoes and other goods for export have closed, and the now-jobless migrants employed by these industries have returned to their villages without annual bonuses to pay for New Year gifts and festivities.

Independent economists expect China's growth rate to fall this year as low as 5 percent, down from an estimated 9 percent last year and 13 percent in 2007.

So what are Asians looking for in the year of the Ox?

Everyone is hopeful that by working hard we can all get through this.

Historically:
Those born under the influence of the Ox are fortunate to be stable and persevering. The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character. Not many people could equal the resolution and fearlessness the Ox exhibits when deciding to accomplish a task or an objective. As we used this great creature long ago to plow the soil day after day, so do Ox people labor through their daily responsibilities either at work or at home without complaint or gripe. Oxen know they will succeed through hard work and sustained effort and find no truth or benefit in concocting get-rich-quick schemes.

For Americans/Europeans:
This will need to be "the" theme as well. We need to change our ways and our spending habits. Unlike most blogs out there that tell us to completely stop spending (this will only force us down several notches), we should focus our spending habits so that we make wise and progressive purchases that bring quality, rewards and relationships. 11 Steps to Smart Spending with critical rewards are going to be important. I foresee food, toys, product safety, effectiveness, earth friendly and kind approaches to be the real re-focusing that consumers should be supporting. Back in the 1950s-60s, Asians were more than willing to take on projects and work as long as it paid for food and housing. These times are returning in many ways for Asians and they will always be willing to work hard and in community to pullout of the global turmoil. However, unless global spending is shifted and maintained, this is going to be one very drawn out recovery. The entire thing is created by human greed and yet we have a growing climate change crisis ahead of us.

Living together in tough times and some predictions:
Globally, there will be increased threats of arguments and war. Anytime you've got hardships and shortages of resources, you will start to have disagreements and the desire to pillage or take from others. This level of aggression has always been a historical problem and we'll see if this takes another form in 2009 Year of the Ox.

Catalyst for increased tensions:
Climate changes creating powershortages, oil producing countries without the capital to buy food, increased Middle East tensions, famines and greater disparities in assets etc. Just take a look in Dubai and their idea of success translating to hotel costs at Burj Al Arab. At over 1000 USD/night as a minimum charge, if customers don't start flowing in, this will start adding to the bottomline tensions. It is sad and unfortunately a real problem. Revolutions/riots and selling of highgrade weaponry will be increasing everywhere.

United States spending:
With a potential of 1+ trillion in US debt and a growing rate of foreclosures, the days of the corporate middleclass is over. With hospitals deep in the red ink and growing cases of nosocomial infections, being a physician poses greater risk than even nurses. For nursing, the costs of education vs. the economic system is still affordable. For medical doctors, it is now considered to be downright risky. If the medical system were to be overhauled, the tuition costs would leave most graduating physicians from middle class backgrounds deep in the red.

And the public needs to ask, how will my doctor who has all these loans treat me?

Rude Awakening:
Is this bad dream going to be over soon?

Answer: No, it is just the beginning. Welcome to what human greed can create and what history will always remember as the Dark Ages 2.0.

Solution:
Stick together. Know your relationships. Community and cooperatives will be critical. Small groupees will need to take care of one another. These are times when you really need to be careful about your food sourcing and information. Protect your loved ones by aligning yourself with others who are like minded.

Fall of the Two Cities (Citi another new low & Circuit City down 75%+ today)

Many people are still oblivious to how bad things are getting. For those who would like to follow closely, Circuit City is delisted from the NYSE:CC and and the new ticker is PNK: CCTYQ.

(1) In a previous article, our recent interview identified that the conditions at Citigroup and banks are worsening on a daily basis.

(2) Prior to the Christmas holidays (storewide bankruptcy) is covered in an earlier report.

(3) Bloomberg mentions that Circuit City started in 1949 and local customer Tom Kinley comments on the liquidation process (this could be happening to more businesses in the future).

(4) What is America thinking? Glendale, CA ; Buena Park, CA; Las Vegas, CA; Gurnee, IL (near Chicago); Atlanta, GA; Brooklyn, NY (claims for false advertising).

(5) The Street.com tries to sell you the goods and even in November ... they would say, look at the potential turnaround story. This page really serves more as an advertising platform regardless of the content (see all the ads where no one is buying the advertising space ... only Street.com is buying their own spaces with their own products). We currently have exclusive unreleased interviews of the Circuit City community of workers. Everyone was hopeful that the company would hire them back. The hope is now evaporated. Today, the company has filed for a total liquidation of the remaining stores. This was only 20+ days since the store closings indicative of the times we are in. I encourage everyone to read clearly what 567 store closings will mean to 34,000 employees.

The rapidly eroding situation has brought some staggering rewards of casualty for competitors such as Best Buy. But the reality check will be whether these levels of consumer buying are sustainable.

(1) Many people ask me what's concerning our world right now?

The answer should be climate change. Instead, the tsunami that many are focusing on is the human created one called financial tsunami. I will do my best to help in the hope that solving this problem creates an awareness that we do need to have community access to affordable and proper healthcare, food and a conscious approach to climate change.

(2) So why is there so much barrier or resistent to change?

Mostly, they are not willing to let go of the past. The saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks comes to mind. Names like Citigroup have proven that one stop shops for financial services are dangerous and don't really work. In fact, this prevents us from solving problems earlier because they are so big.

(3) Are electric hybrids a way of the future for the auto industry?

Not really when it costs consumers 350,000 miles of driving to pay off the "added" costs of purchasing a Prius. These numbers are based on ~$35 USD/barrel of crude oil. Consumers who have an opportunity to develop a green change should be encouraged rather than financially punished for their decisions.

(4) Any problems in the Green World indirectly being affected by the Citi-sickness?

Yes, Whole Foods which has created a name on the Street for "Whole Paycheck" is having a new problem and it is called quality versus profit margins. Their quality has been spiraling due to the focus on trying to squeeze margins. One example is the pre-Thanksgiving management decision to increase Pomegranate prices from 2.99 each to 3.99 each on product #3440. Prices were held through December and followed by a switch in supplier to a lesser quality and more mass grower focused on juicing. This allowed a seemingly passing on savings to the consumer in January to a price of $2.50 each.

B. Prices were raised and lowered to ready-up the short memories of consumers to feel that prices have come down.

(5) Is the sickness in the Citi spreading?

Yes, the downward spiral in Citi and the rest of the banking system has affected further recovery of mortgages, the auto industry, stability of jobs etc. Quality of businesses are suffering due to lack of financing and consumers are waking up to being cheated almost daily. Nationally, there are complaints logged on why has consumer spending dropped?!

As many businesses try to squeeze margins, we will start to worry about the food safety levels and the ultimate sourcing on quality.

(6) How severe is the sickness going to be?

The level of the sickness is going to be extremely severe because this sickness also affects the minds. The number of telephone calls for the office on anger management are ringing off the hook.

Comments from investors upset that Steve Jobs is sick comes into my private line and they would ask me how come he didn't fully disclose this.

Logically, when you have public investors, you no longer have privacy for your own health. Transparency needs to be at a maximum. Unfortunately, it is a human desire to want to have both. The situation is not good because if they go inside and operate, there is always increased risk. All of us who know the Whipple procedure, realize that there will be risks but reporting this level of risk needs to be released by the patient.

Negligence on many levels has traumatized the public.

A. Yes, in addition to my role as a Professor in the Cayman Islands, I have taken on another post as an honorary professor of science & technology at Open University. I firmly believe under these economic stresses, educators should try to provide the opportunity and accessibility for students to have a low-cost apprentice track for learning via long distance education or living quarters. In the islands, we have successfully been able to provide 150 students at $50/day with access to a vehicle, housing, and meals.

... poisoned bait and dead rabbit/rat bodies will make Macquarie Island, one very nasty place when this leaks into the ground water, soil etc. And they can say all the nice things but any substance that kills in such vast quantities can't be good for the ecosystem.

We just need to make well thought out decisions.

Pork Loin Cooked to a Golden Brown and topped with poached eggs with a side of steamed spinach. This particular meal is substantially lower in fat/oil content and a much higher in quality protein from a quality cut of pork & chicken eggs.

They always ask: How was your dinner sir?

In my mind, I am thinking do you really want to know?
And why do you always ask when I am about to kiss the date?

Well it was a direct reflection of the times. We had called in advance and they specifically mentioned that gluten-free was a priority. Guess what? The cauliflower soup was topped with a piece of fried dough (see above). Makes us wonder what was going on back there and it certainly gives us confidence in the 'gluten free' main course (Turbot with grilled fennel, fingerling pototoes, roasted grapes and topped with a balsamic vinegrette reduction) .

The main course was fine but the atmosphere for a five diamond restaurant is a scary reflection that yes, folks this is the last day of 2008 (a global financial tsunami has arrived).

Teresa and I kept our bearings as we looked forward to the countdown and smiled
for the camera.

There was no gluten-free pastries (although we've been promised these pastries for the countdown) and the creme brulee was not acceptable. Try it one time. To compare and tell the difference: Remove the sugar glazed topping and you'll be able to see/taste if there are any flaws. It is an experience worth having (pic from December 30th of the creme brulee bleh)

So we got our fruit plates. And we had mentioned make sure no pineapples, oranges, berries (this is because the berries were moldy from an earlier meal, pineapples didn't taste right etc). Well, they forgot and we ended our fruit plate with yet another mistake.

But despite all the gloom and doom. A few hugs, kisses, dances and soon everything will be forgotten. Our friends stayed up until the wee hours doing their jig hoping to do a money dance back into 'la-la' land and pretend that may things will be different when we all wake up in 2009. According to one AnD reader: green is good! Well then, the last trading day is good! Another day of green.

Right before the countdown, there is talk of a massive zero percent financing package for vehicles where you don't need to pay interest for 60 months/5 yrs of freedom!! Under the current situation, this maybe the best option. The real truth will be seen when every American rushes to get their new cars. And for the manufactures, they get to remove/reduce their inventory without giving cashback. Zero percent financing is a tried and true method that works everytime. Pay attention to the advertisements and you should these popping up for Lincoln, Ford, Mercury deals!

Solving the glut in oversupply of new and used homes requires a similar methodology to the auto credit/borrowing extension. 30 year fixed mortgages will be a thing of the past and welcome the 40/50 year fixed mortgages. What does this really mean? It will take you 10/20 additional years to attain the same equity in your home. In essence, if a 30 year old individuals bought a home, their home loan would be paid off by the time they reached 70/80 yrs old. The loan would be guaranteed a certain rate and banks can choose to keep or phase out the program. For now, it will help solve the credit crunch, the oversupply of homes and allow lower monthly payments.

They say time heals everything. So if we give it more time, the healing will come. In 2009, we will give a warm welcome to the 40/50 yr mortgage.

December 31st 2008, The Night of the Countdown (The Hotel Saga)

Once again, I'm wearing the same clothing until I get my change of clothing. The haircut with Mayumi will be scheduled for January 2nd. Longer hair for now.

So far the following items have been problematic:

(1) Pineapples

(4) Blackberry -moldy top

(5) Pomegranate -rotten

(6) Pork dish #2-burnt

(7) Pork dish #1- undercooked, raw to the cut

(8) Crab meat -burnt/extremely salty -see earlier blog posting (both plates)

So far for today, the executive chef came out and the Food & Beverage manager explained that due to the collapse of various managerial empires, there has been a fallout in quality. As a Diamond Hotel, our food was specially managed today. I'll include photos of tonights New Year's Eve Dinner shortly (dinner is at 10pm -2hrs before 2009).
